Now choose decorative concrete!

With over 40 years experience in the concrete industry.

  1. We are a family owned business with over 40+ years experience in the concrete flat-work industry.  I am a full blooded American.  In America, in the early 70s, I went into the concrete flat work business at the age of 19.   It is there that I learned the basic fundamentals of the art of good plain (none decorative) concrete work.  In the 70s and 80s I did all the flat work for hundreds of new houses, namely, the basement, garage, driveway,  patio, sidewalk,  stoop (front entrance) and steps.  Most of this work was done by sub-contract through home building companies; it had to be guarantied and of high professional quality.
  2. I just want to say here in kind of a light manner but with some truth to what I say:  there is a country/western love song that says something regarding the love and experience of a man with a particular woman he loved.  And the man says "I forgot more about her then you will ever know about her."  Well in many cases, when I see the concrete flat work that is done in Europe and in England, that is what comes to my mind as it relates to my experience in this line of work.  For example, I have noticed that some people, when they see the money that can be made in the decorative concrete industry, they decide, hey, let's get into it.  So they start right off doing decorative concrete when they have not even learned the basics in just doing plain beautiful, professional plain concrete.
  3.  Note!  contrary to the experience and belief of some people, concrete, if of good quality and done by skilled persons will last for many, many years.  I have done a lot of this work in America, now 35-45 years ago, & many of those clients are still enjoying the benefits of that workmanship even to this day.  This is the same goal we have in the UK.  In this line of work it pays to hire an experienced professional.
MORE ABOUT US
In the year 1992, soon after the breakup of the Soviet Union, my wife & I moved to Eastern Europe as missionaries. After some years there we decided to try our decorative concrete skills to help support our ministry. At first the challenge was- where can we find the quality materials that would hold up through the harsh winters & freeze/thaw cycles of Eastern Europe. After a search through the internet we were happy to find a Co. from Cambridge (the UK) & their line of products. For this kind of work, after some years of testing, we have found their materials prove to be of the same quality as those from America.

In my lifetime of doing this kind of work I have done very little advertising; we gained approx. 99% of our customers through word of mouth by our reputation. This is also our goal here in the UK. We have learned through experience that one bad job, through unexpected weather conditions while doing the job as well as poor concrete mixture from the local concrete suppliers, can be very costly in gaining or losing customers. And I am determined not to allow that to happen even if the concrete must me rejected and returned to the Redimix Company at our cost.

Our goal here in the UK is not to impress people with our web-sight but to be practical; that is to have our clients see & experience our work. We believe that is the only correct way we can build a reputation that will last for years to come as was the case in America. We know we can guarantee our work for many years because our method of work & materials have already been tested & proven by withstanding environments (freeze/thaw cycles, heat & cold) that are far, far more harsher then those of the UK.

We aim to use the highest quality of materials etc. available on today’s market. I, Paul, am now one year short of 60 years "young." I have found that this line of work is like beautiful women: If the work is not supervised by experienced personnel then for the 1st half year it may appear seductive & beautiful on the outside but when it is put under the test by going through the first winter (freeze thaw cycle, heat & cold) it may start appearing like an 90 year old grandmother. So don't shortchange yourself by hiring a company that spends thousands in advertising and flabbergasts you with beautiful photos and smooth sales talk.

and finally-
concrete slabs, whether for driveways, patios, industrial floors etc., with our unique color hardener are extremely durable, easy to maintain and affordable. For driveways we can give a non-slip, stain resistant surface that is easily cleaned, & doesn't have the common side effects as with block and brick paving such as unevenness, weeds and moss, etc. The surface is sealed which also helps prevent infestation by ants.

What we do in residential:

Parking pads, driveways, sidewalks, patios, garages, garden paths, divider walls and much more. This work is done either in plain classic American style surface finish or in decorative finish with imitation stone, brick, tile, etc., with various colors to choose from.

Testimonials

Dear Paul, I'd just like to say what a wonderful job you did on our driveway. We were pleased to find a design & patterns we liked from the booklet you showed us & also that you were able to match the color for our border which you mixed yourself. We particularly liked the compass design you set in the driveway. We were very pleased that the work was completed in three days with the minimal disturbance to us. Once the work was finished we got a lot of complements on the driveway & passed on your details. I would definitely recommend your work. Kind regards, Dinesh K Halai

Testimonials

I had my driveway done in Oct. this year by P & S Design Concrete, REP by Paul Shrock. He concreted and stenciled my driveway. It took him and his team just one week to dig it all out and fill it in and finish it all off. Paul and his team are friendly and helpful. I would recommend them to do the work.
